There is no place for record room in mini Vidhana Soudha

Mangaluru: Mega Media News Exclusive – As the Mangaluru taluk office shifted to the mini Vidhana Soudha, it created much confusion among the public. It is mainly because the record room of taluk office remained in the old building rest of the offices were shifted to mini Vidhana Soudha near Town Hall. The planning of the building is done during BJP-JDS coalition government.

Many people are running here and there to get their concerned records. One has to file his application at the mini Vidhana Soudha and have to go the old taluk office to collect the records.

Why so?

When some office needed to be shifted, then the PWD should make a proper plan keeping the requirements in mind. If a taluk office is shifting then the new office should have enough space to shift all the offices in it including record room. But here there is no pace to keep all the records in mini Vidhana Soudha. So, the record room has remained in the old taluk office itself.

It is said that shifting of sub registrar of to the mini Vidhana Soudha was not mentioned in the plan. The place allotted for record room is designated as sub registrar office. This is the reason behind the lack of space for record room.

The old sub registrar office building is strong enough to work under the roof. Just because, mini Vidhana Soudha is a new building sub registrar office has been shifted to it.

Now, if the sub registrar office shifted to the old building then there will be enough space to shift all the records from old records room to mini Vidhana Soudha.

When megamedianews.in approached the Tahashildar R B Shiva Shankarappa, he informed that there are totally 6.5 lakhs of files in the record room. There are plans to shift the record room to the new building, but the date is not fixed yet.

“I will hold all the responsibility of the records. We have deputed a night watchman for the security. We have already given a request letter to the commissioner to depute police constables for the security, but our plea is not considered yet,” he said.

When PED officials were contacted, none of them could give a proper answer to these confusions. Most of the officials showed their finger towards another department, as if they are not the responsible for this.

Parking problem

The space allotted for the parking of vehicles is very less in mini Vidhana Soudha. As, all the surrounding area is acquired by the government employees association and other unions. The area allotted for parking in the old building was approximately 1.5 acres. But, here in the mini Vidhana Soudha it is less than 0.5 acres.
