Mangaluru: “Another 60 CCTV cameras will installed within the Mangaluru police commissionerate limits. As of now there are 49 cameras which are functioning in the city,” said Police Commissioner Chandra Sekhar.
He was speaking at the grievances meeting of Dalit’s held at Commissioner Office on Sunday.
“Mangaluru police will not tolerate any undesirable incidents like assaults on Dalit’s and all. Therefore the CCTV cameras will be installed in Valencia and other areas of the city, where Dalit’s live in large numbers,” he said.
Speaking about the new building of rural police station he said that the work will commence within a month. Some of the donors and sponsors have come forward for the financial help. The building work will be accomplished before the ned of this year.
“Police have kept hawk eye on the ganja and drugs peddlers. Uninterrupted operations are going on. Heavy fine and imprisonment will be levied on the accused. A yearlong campaign will be held. People also should jin hands with police in this matter,” he added.
