Uppinangady : A 60 year old woman named Chennamma, wife of Late chacko was found murdered at the footsteps of her house at Korijalu in Kadaba Noojibaltila village on August 29, Thursday evening. It is suspected that a property dispute in the family was the reason for the attack.

The woman was living all alone  in the house. Though she had three children all of them lived away. Her one son who worked abroad had returned and was settled in Belthangady, while another son was supposed to arrive soon. Her daughter is married.

It is learnt the woman after retaining a piece of land for herself had distributed the rest of the property among her children. But it is learnt, the children eyed her property too.

The exact cause of the death is not yet known. Her throat was found slit with a knife.

Investigations are underway.
