Karkala: There is a government only for namesake in Karnataka where the administrative machinery has come t o a halt,” alleged Udupi Chikmagalur MP Jayaprakash Hegde.
Speaking at a party workers’ meeting after accepting memoranda from public at the Belman Sri Krishna Sabhabhavan on June 26, Tuesday, Hegde said if the BJP ministers were indulging in corruption, the CM was overburdened with as many as 28 portfolios.
He said if the Central government aided programmes were being implemented in the state, the state government is claiming these programmes on its own. He further added that the BJP instead of resorting to jail bharo against petrol price hike, ought to have pressurized its government in the state to reduce the cess on petrol, which is highest here compared to other states.
MLA H Gopal Bhandari, former minister Vasanth Salian, ZP member Supreeth Shetty and others were on the dais.
