Kasargod : A woman who was sleeping inside the house succumbed to a venomous snake bite at Kududapadavu near Paivalike in the district on Thursday July 4.

The deceased is identified as Chomu (64),daughter of the late Manku. The incident occurred around midnight on Wednesday.

Chomu awoke from sleep after feeling a biting sensation in her hand and immediately informed her brother.

Upon searching, they discovered a cobra inside the house. Although Chomu was rushed to the hospital, she could not be saved.
