Mangalore: Rev. Fr Swebert D’Silvam Principal of St Aloysius College recently inaugurated a three day faculty development programme on “Research Methods for Non-Statisticians” at AIMIT. The program was inaugurated by Rev Fr Swebert D’Silva SJ, Principal of St. Aloysius College (Autonomous) Mangalore.
In his key note address, Fr Swebert said the nation needs quality research for its overall development.
Rev Fr Denzil Lobo SJ, the Director of AIMIT, Rev Dr. Oswald Mascarenhas Sj, Chairman, MBA dept, Dr Rowena Wright, Dean of the MBA were present on the occasion.
The resource persons were the faculty of AIMIT. The programme comprised of 11 sessions with theory and on-hands practical sessions and dealt with topics like research philosophy to number crunching topics like Descriptive statistics, inferential statistics: Parametric & non-parametric tests, problem centered research, longitudinal research, questionnaire design etc.
The practical sessions were on Parametric tests and Non-Parametric tests. Fifty participants from Mysore, Belgaum, Mangalore and various other parts of Karnataka attended the programme.
