Sullia :  Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and Hindu Jagarana Vedike State Convener Jagadish Karanth were among the 14 persons who appeared before a court in Sullia on August 21, Tuesday in connection with the case of delivering provocative speeches at the local bus stand at a function organized by the Hindu Hitarakshana Vedike on February 12, 2009, prior to the Lok Sabha elections.

One Usman of Kallumutlu had earlier filed a private complaint against the fourteen persons in the court here. The case has been adjourned till October 9 to hear the prosecutor’s deposition.
