Kundapur : Yet another fishing boat capsize has been reported. This time it is off the Gangolli estuary and this time too all fishermen on board were rescued at Kundapur Kodi Thale on August 24, Friday.

The mishap took place when the boat named ‘Krishna Chhaya’, owned by Shanker Shipai   was on its return journey after a fishing expedition. When the boat remained stuck in the middle of the sea due to an engine failure,  a huge wave, overturned the boat. For the good luck of the fishermen, members on board another boat which was behind noticed the capsize and  rushed to rescue the drowning fishermen. The rescued fishermen are Shanker Shipai, Laxman Kharvi, Shrinivasa Shipai, Subba Kharvi and Manjunath.

The boat has been totally damaged and the loss has been estimated at Rs 6 lakhs.
