Mangalore:  “Pernal Sonda” will be organized by the Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy at Town Hall in Mangalore on September 8 as part of its cultural awareness programme.

Informing this to reporters here, Rahim Uchil, President of the Academy, said a Beary Folk Rally-Beary Sandal will also be held on September 9 and will be flagged off by Deputy Speaker Yogish Bhat.

A meeting to be held at Town Hall on September 8 will be inaugurated by MLC Monappa Bhandari, he informed. Among others who will attend the function include Mayor Gulzar Banu, NB Aboobakker, Chairman of Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation, U T Khader, MLA, Umanath A Kotian, President of Tulu Sahitya Academy, Gulam Mohammad, Working President of Udupi JD(S) and Harikrishna Punaroor, President of the DK District unit of  Kannada Sahitya Parishat.

Rahim Uchil said the Pernal Sandola message will be delivered by Karnataka State Wakf Board member N K M Shafi Saadi.

On September 9, the Beary Sandal will  travel to ten places in Bantwal taluk.Later, the rally will travel to Udupi Hassan, Shimoga, Sakleshpur, Belur and Bangalore on the second and fourth Sundays for next two months. The Academy is also planning to hold Vishwa Beary Sahitya Sammelan at Theerthahalli, next year, he said.
