Bhatkal: Seven persons belonging to a family including two women and five children who were on way to Bhatkal from Vijayawada have been reported missing since the past 12 days under mysterious circumstances. Even their mobile phones are found switched off.
According to Mohammad Imran Mashaikh of Bhatkal, his wife along with two out of her five kids, had left for Vijayavada on September 1 to visit her ailing mother. From there they had proceeded towards Bhatkal on September 11 along with his wife’s sister and her two kids and a relative girl. The seven who were supposed to leave for Hubli from Vijayawada by train and travel from there to Bhatkal by bus, were missing and their whereabouts not known.
Those missing are Bibi Fathima W/o Imran Mashaikh (25), Irfan S/o Imran Mashaikh (4), Khatija Amreen D/o Imran Mashaikh (4 months), Bibi Salma W/o Syed Afsar (23) and her children Syed Sabir and Syed Bashira and Syed Hajibi (15)
A case of missing has been registered in Vijayawada police station.
