Mangaluru : 75th Republic Day celebrations held at Nehru Maidan on Friday under the aegis of the District Administration. District in-charge Minister Dinesh Gundurao hoisted the national tri-colour.

Speaking after hoisting the national tri-colour he said, every citizen of this land must respect the basic tenets of the Constitution including Secularism and Freedom of Expression and uphold the honour and sovereignty of the nation. It is only then that Rama Rajya can be a reality in the true sense as envisioned by Mahatma Gandhiji, said District in-charge Minister Dinesh Gundurao.

A people-friendly administration is the basic principle of Rama Rajya, he said adding the Congress government has kept its words by implementing all five guarantees within seven months of coming to power.

Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan, City Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal, ZP CEO Dr Anand, SP CB Rishyanth, MCC Commissioner Anand, Mayor Sudhir Shetty Kannur, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLAs Vedavyas Kamath, Harish Kumar, Manjunatha Bhandary and others were present.
