Bangalore: The largely attended 77th Kannada Sahitya Sammelan, which raised a storm against the state political corruption and sought to clear the stink created by all 3 Parties and its MLAs /MPs in state for a fresh environment without graft, concluded in Bangalore on Sunday (Feb.6th) with a forceful demand for compulsory Kannada education for children from standard 1 to 4 in lower levels of education.
The President, G.Venkatasubbaiah made it clear that he was not against English which had to be learnt at higher secondary levels for employment, usage, knowledge, legal purposes and even international modern age purposes.
A resolution passed on Kannada films condemned dubbing films in Kannada from any other language and asked the govt to prevent it. The Hyderabad Karnataka region should be developed on a priority basis, applying session 371 (special status) to this backward area of 5 or 6 districts. Kannada should be used in all spheres of life in Karnataka to create employment for Kannadigas.
