Chitradurga: Eight persons were killed  and over 50 injured in a macabre bus accident which took place in a slopy area  between Madakaripura and Dandinakurubarahatti villages on Monday afternoon.

If two persons including the driver died on the spot, the rest breathed their last in the hospital. It is believed that over speeding of the bus proceeding from Challakere to Chitradurga was responsible for the mishap wherein the  bus rammed against a tamarind tree. Several children too were involved in the mishap.
