Mangalore: More than 220 Haj Yatra Pilgrims going to Mecca will board their Air India Planes from Kenjaru international terminal airport to go to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia soon. The flights commence today.
Mumtaz Alikhan, Minister for Haj and Wakf properties is in Mangalore to look after the travel arrangements and Yateemkhana stay of the air passengers. He flags off the first team leaving India Jeddah today afternoon.
S.H Usman, Chairman of the local Wakf Committee, informed that over 500 intending Haj travellers had registered at the Haj Camp that was opened on Oct.25 at the old airport in city. All facilities were provided to them, he added.
The flights will take place on 3 consecutive days, with 880 pilgrims flying out, each carrying 220 pilgrims. 2 flights on 29th, one on 30th are likely, Haj Committee sources stated here.
Mangalore Qazi Twaka Ahmed Musliyar, B.A Moideen, Masood, M.A. Aboobakker, Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi, MLA U.t Khader and others were present during the send-off ceremony at the Kenjaru Airport in City. Mumtaz Alikhan, Minister for Haj met all the pilgrims and wished them firewall before the plane took off .
