Kasaragod: The death of 9-year-old boy Srawanth Kumar is suspected being murdered in a shed used for storing firewood near Bakery Junction at Sunkadakatte, Vorkady on Sunday May 20.
The deceased boy has been identified as Srawanth Kumar, a resident of Sunkadakatte, Vorkady, and a class 4 student of St Joseph School, Sunkadakatte.
It is said, The boy went missing in the afternoon on Sunday when he had been to a shop, Later his body was found in a shed used for storing firewood in the evening.
The parent’s of the deceased boy alleged that he was sexual assault before being murdered. It is understood that the injury marks at the neck and body indicate murder.
After protests by the relatives of the deceased the body was shifted to Pariyaram Medical College, and then hebreathed his last after shifted to a private hospital in Mangaluru.
Police informed that the post-mortem report would confirm whether there was a sexual assault.
A case has been registered in Manjeshwara police station.
