Mangalore : The popular Kannada weekly “Pingara”, edited by Raymond D’Cunha observed his 9th anniversary at the Town hall on Nov.26th at 5 pm in the presence of Bishop of Mangalore Dr. Rev Fr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, who presided.
The well-known builder of 90 houses in city, Eric Correa was conferred the ‘Pingara Rajyotsava award’ for 2013 by the Rev. Bishop, who praised Correa as a model Christian youth in public service and philanthropy. Correa had donated all the 90 houses to the poorer sections of Christian society.
Receiving the award Correa said that the annual award given this time to him would be an inspiration in the service of the community to which he belongs and he would certainly work for the welfare of his Brethren.
Raymond D’Cunha, Editor, welcomed the gathering and also proposed a vote of thanks.
Raghuram Bhandary, Joint Secretary to the Government and Special Officer (Banking) State Finance Department, Gopal Bhandari, MLA, VP Lobo and Managing Director of T3 Urban Developers were present as a chief guests.
Harikrishna Punaroor, former president of the Sahitya Parishat, Srikar Prabhu, Fr William Menezes, Rohan Monteiro, Managing Director of Rohan Corporation, Dr BG Suvarnaand others were present.
