Mangalore : The Mangalore Branch of Indian Medical Association (IMA) felicitated three outstanding doctors on the occasion of Doctor’s Day celebrated at Dr. A.V. Rao Conference Hall, IMA House, Mangalore recently.
Speaking as a chief guest of the occasion, State Health and Family Welfare Minister UT Khader said the state government has banned Gutka to ensure the good health of the people.
He said that shortage of doctors continues to be a major problem in government sector despite high salaries compared to private sector.
Khadar felicitated three senior doctors – Dr. Ganesh S. Pai, dermatologist and cosmetologist; Dr. M. Vijay Kumar, Obstetrician and Gynecologist and Dr. Gayatri Ramani, Obstetrician and Gynecologist for their outstanding service to society.
The minister was also honoured by Dr. C.P. Habeeb Rehman, Chairman of Unity Health Complex and Dr. Sathish Kumar Bhandary, Dean of K. S. Hegde Medical Academy
