Mangalore : District Minister Ramanatha Rai has warned of disciplinary action against officials abstaining from KDP review meetings henceforth.
Speaking at the quarterly Karnataka Development Programme (KDP) review meeting held at the ZP Auditorium on July 11, Thursday, the Minister took serious cognizance of absence of several officials at the meeting. When some officials fumbled in their reply to the minister, it irked him more.
Rai pointed out that there was confusion over Aadhaar Card and National Population Registration (NPR) identity card (smart card) and urged officials to create awareness in this regard. Additional DC Dayanand gave details in this regard and added less than 25 per cent of the population of the district have enrolled for Aadhaar cards.
The minister also took exception to the poor progress in the multi-village water supply scheme was going on in the district. Mangalore South MLA JR Lobo urged for flyovers at Nanthur and Pumpwell.
