Manipal : Students of various polytechnics of the district took out a protest march and staged a protest in front of the DC office at Manipal on July 16, Tuesday seeking carry over system in the better interests of the students.

The agitators pointed out that the recent change in the policy wherein a student who has  have four backlogs cannot attend third and fifth semesters was at the disadvantage of the students and urged the authorities to fix  a higher limit.

They also alleged that the re-evaluation results have not been announced due to apathy of officials.

The agitating students submitted a memorandum to Udupi MP Jayaprakash Hegde who assured to look into the demands.

A cop of the memorandum was also handed over to Additional DC Kumar.  All College Polytechnic Students Association President Jovin and others took part in the protest.
