Mangalore : As latest information reveals that the government is hell bent upon going ahead with the 4000 mw ultra mega thermal power plant at Niddodi in Moodbidri, the residents of the village are gearing themselves up to put up a united fight to pressurize the government to drop the project which is sure to wreak havoc on their lives. There is fear that the plan may have irreparable consequences on three villages. The villagers have a fear that the authorities have purchased land from some NRI families mainly for the Niddodi plant.
The predominant occupation of most of the residents is agriculture and there is a fear that they will all lose livelihood due to the project. There are also a significant number of Kudubi families in the area.
The villagers plan to even stage a protest in front of Vidhana Saudha.
