Mangalore : A Railway grievance redressal meeting was held at Circuit House on July 29, Monday under the presidentship of Nalin Kumar, Kateel,MP of Mangalore.
A senior railway official informed that the Mangalore railway station would be developed to international standards under PPP and added the private firm is yet to be identified. Consultancy work has been handed over to Kerala Industrial and Technical Consultancy Organization (KITCO), he informed.
A railway officer informed that level crossing near APMC Baikampady cannot be constructed due to increasing accidents.
He also stated that a railway under bridge would come up at Bajal level crossing at a cost of Rs 4.96 crore.
It was also informed that the fourth and fifth platform at Mangalore Railway Station would be constructed at a cost of Rs 16.19 crore.
At the meeting, the MP directed the RTO to permit KSRTC buses from Mangalore to the Kankanady railway station.
MCC commissioner K Ajith Hegde and other officials were present.
