Mangalore : The Navarathri Utsav at Mahathobhara Shri Mangaladevi Temple, Bolar commenced with a grandeur accompanied by the dancing dolls and Musical Instruments at the temple on October 8, Friday.
DC V Ponnuraj and Entrepreneur M Raghunath Shet of SL Shet Jewelers handed over the gold mask weighing 2.5kg and worth Rs 30 lakh to the chief priest Padmanabha Aithal and Ramnath Hegde, the managing trustee of the Mangala Devi Temple, in the presence of large number of devotees.
Later the Golden Mask was taken in a traditional procession in the temple premises accompanied by the chief guests.
Besides the temple has also offered the main silver doors made of 40kgs silver costing Rs. 30 lakh.
Sudhakar Rao Pejawar, President of the Bunts’ Association Ajith Kumar Rai Malady and corporator Premanand Shetty were present.
