Mangalore: The Vanya Charana Balaga of Mangalore will hold informative and awareness programmes on the Yettinahole Project proposed to be implemented by the government. The awareness programmes will be held in various schools and colleges and other organizations.
This was informed by Dinesh Holla, Convenor of the Balaga to reporters here on August 2, Friday. Holla said the project was unscientific and would threaten Western Ghats and also endanger River Netravathi which was vital for the coastal districts.
He said the Vanya Charana Balaga has studied the Western Ghats while undertaking trekking several times and said the proposed project would do much harm to the rich Western Ghat area.
Balaga President Sudhir Kumar, Ramesh Kamath, vice President, Sunil Kumar, Deputy Secretary, were also present.
