Mangalore : Police have arrested a total of five persons including the prime accused Sharan in the case of murder of Vikranth Shetty at Morgansgate on August 5.

It is learnt the five surrendered as soon as they realized the police would trap them. They were later arrested.Those arrested are Sharan, Sampath, Rajesh, Yashwanth and Naveen. They during interrogations reportedly told the police that their car hit Vikranth’s bike and when he fell down they attacked him with sword. Police have also seized the sword and the car from the accused.

They also told the police that in 2006 there was a fight in a bar in Mangalore when there was a fight and Vikranth who worked there tried to end the fight when Sharan hit him. In defence Vikranth had hit Sharan with a stone severely injuring him. Since then Sharan was waiting for the right time to attack Vikranth and eventually eliminated him on August 5 at Morgasgate.

It is learnt Sharan and Yashwanth had a soft drink business. Naveen and Rajesh were painters while Sampath did roof centring works.
