Mangalore Sri Rama Sene founder threatened that his organization may be forced to take up arms if the government fails to put an end to cattle thefts and smuggling in the days to come.
Speaking to reporters at Neermarga in the outskirts of the city on August 18, Sunday, he said cattle thefts have proved a major problem in the district. The thieves are also brandishing weapons and stealing cattle he said and blamed the soft policy of the CM for the same. He accused the government of being apathetic to cattle smuggling and warned that a district bundh call would be given if the menace did not end within 15 days.
On Bangladeshi infiltrants, Mutalik said there were over 10 lakh infiltrants of whom there are 3000 women who are engaged in flesh trade and such other unlawful activities. He said the Sri Rama Sene has launched a campaign to get the infiltrants out of the nation.
He said he would contest the LS polls as an independent. The Sene has conducted a survey in Belgaum, Chikkodi, Haveri, Chikmagalur Udupi and Bagalkote and will contest in any one constituency, he said.
