Mangalore : Akhila Bharatha Billawara Union in association with Narayan Guru educational institutions celebrated 158th birth anniversary of Brahmashree Narayan Guru at Narayan Guru College auditorium, Kudroli on August 22, Thursday.
MLA J R Lobo inaugurated the event; he said that Brahmashree Narayan Guru has been remembered even to the present day and called as the great saint for his contribution towards the mankind.
He also said that Narayan Guru has worked for the betterment of the society in this region; hence every one must follow his principles in our daily life and respect the people around us. Narayan Guru had struggled a lot for equality, he added.
Naveen Chandra D Suvarna, president of Akhila Bharatha Billawara Union presided over the event and said that great saint like Narayan Guru had struggled a lot to bring social reforms in the society. Hence he must be considered as a role model to the youths.
Dr Vasanth Kumar, College principal welcomed the guests and gathering while Shakila Raj delivered the vote of thanks.
Mangalore University professor and student welfare officer Dr P L Dharama, Prajavani Mangalore Bureau Chief Balakrishna Puthige, Narayan Guru Educational institutions administrative officer K Balakrishna Gatti and others were present.
