Bantwal : State Minister of Health and Family Welfare U T Khader who participated as a chief guest at the ‘Guruvandana’ programme organised by Dakshina Kannada district and Bantwal taluk teachers’ day celebration committees in Bantwal on September 5, Thursday said teachers must develop a love towards teaching and this will improve their performance as well as the performance of their students,
District-in-charge minister B Ramanatha Rai presided over the function. Dr Madhava Bhat,Principal of Vivekananda College, gave a special lecture.
Best Teacher Awards were presented to several teachers including Jayananda Peraje, Vasudev Rao, Joseph, Rajashree, Chandrashekhar Bhat, Ramesh Naik Mulur, Dharanendra Jain, D N Raghava, Jagadeesh Shetty, Vasanthi, Lakshman Naik and Umesh Gowda.
Felicitations were also offered to teachers Ramesh Nayak and Shridhar Rai who had received state-level ‘Best teacher’ awards last year, and Ramesh Baya and Sanjeeva H who had received district-level ‘Best teacher’ awards.
A book entitled ‘Educational possibilities’ by teacher Bhaskar Adwala was released by Rai on the occasion.
Among others present were DDPI Moses Jayashekhar, DK Zilla Panchayat president Koragappa Naik, Bantwal taluk panchayat president Lalita Shivappa, DK Kannada Sahitya Parishad president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura and Mangalore DIET Principal Palakshappa.
