Mangalore : The state government has been requested by the Belthangady Taluk Hitharakshana Vedike to postpone the foundation laying of the Yettinahole project. It may be recalled here that there were reports recently that the project would be launched on September 14.
K Prathapa Simha Nayak, President of the Vedike who spoke to reporters here said there is a need for the government to inform the public about the project and keep it transparent. The government must clarify the doubts of the public he said and added there was much fear regarding the consequences of the project.
Nayak also said even Belthangady MLA Vasanth Bangera has voiced his concern against the project.
Nayak further urged the administration to arrange for programems that sensitize the public regarding the project and added public should be taken into confidence before going in for such projects.
He said the Vedike would also take a delegation to the CM, legislators and MPs of the state seeking explanation regarding the project.
