Bantwal : A pregnant woman who was admitted to a private hospital in Bantwal for delivery has died on September 20, Friday with family and locals alleging this to be a case of  failure of doctors to provide proper medical treatment.

The deceased is Shakuntala (32), vice president of Sarapady Gram Panchayat.She was admitted to hospital on Thursday for her third delivery. But when her condition worsened, the doctors advised that she be taken to a hospital in Mangalore. But it is said Shakuntala died while being taken to the hospital.

Shakuntala’s husband Sai Shanthi has complained with the police against Dr Indira of the hospital stating that medical negligence had led to his wife’s death.

The deceased Shakuntala has two  children, a daughter and a son.
