Mangalore :  Shivashanker Bhat, Organising Secretary of  Action Committee of People affected by NH widening project, has said that the committee  has been formed to  save Kalladka town from being affected by   the Hassan-BC Road NH widening project.  He said around 30 shops and 200 houses in Kalladka are facing eviction due to the highway widening project., Already borders have been marked  for eviction of 22.5 meter of land on either side, he said adding several houses and commercial buildings are facing demolition.

He said the Committee would fight for the cause of Kalladka and would request the authorities to construct  bye-pass or parallel road to save the shops and houses.

Dinesh Shenoy, Honorary President of the Committee, Ronald D’Souza, Mohammad Zakaria were also present.
