Padubidri :  Thefts have given sleepless nights to Uchila residents. On September 30, Monday night nearly six houses were burgled in Uchila area. However, the thieves managed to escape narrowly when the occupants of one of the houses woke up and alerted neighbours.While fleeing thieves left behind a shoe and their two-wheeler.

The thefts came to light on Tuesday morning and the thefts occurred in the houses of  Atika Hussain, Mumtaz, Nebisa Hassan and Nazeer Hassan of  Uchila Church Road.

Thieves managed to steal just Rs 5000 and a mobile phone. They also made failed bid to steal two more houses. Padubidri police have pressed finger print experts into service.
