I have never tried to hide any crime or support the culprits. We have not protected any suspect. In a TV interview some of tried to defame my family and me, He said.
Addressing the press persons at Vasanth Mahal here on Tuesday , October 15, he said, “For the first time in my life, I have realize how a just person like me can be hurt, how one can be killed verbally. This is a great insult to me as i have always dedicated myself for the betterment of society over 45 years.”
“After Sowjanya went missing, I had informed the officials to investigate the matter. After comprehend that Sowjanya was dead, I contacted former home minister Ashok to search for the culprits and punish them. I had also called C.T. Ravi, former district in-charge minister, in this regard. On 22 October 2012, when the home minister had visited Shri Kshetra, I had asked him to hand over the case to COD.”
My nephew Nischal, son of my younger brother Harshendra has been held responsible for Sowjanya’s rape and murder. On October 21, 2012, he was in U.S. doing his higher studies. He had returned to India on December 28. We have documents to prove this. Even Sowjanya’s family is aware of it. Still, such developments have taken place. This is a clear indication to suggest that it is a well planned strategy to spoil our family name.
“The college had asked her post mortem report twice with her relative Jagdish Gowda, so that we could claim insurance and help her family. However he did not respond to this. But it is now portrayed as if the college did not take keen interest in this regard.”
A injunction has been filed against the news channel which recently telecasted interview of Sowjanya’s family.
The interview highlighted the role of Nischal, nephew of Dr. Veerendra Heggade, in the murder case of Sowjanya.
Through the noted lawyer P.P. Hegde, Dr. Veerendra Heggade and his family filed a petition at district court.
