Puttur :  One Aboobakker of Madavu, the driver of a pick-up vehicle has been arrested for smuggling wood  in his vehicle at Ankatadka in Paltadu village on October 22, Tuesday. He was on way to Kumbra from Bellare when  his vehicle was intercepted by forest officials.

The value of the seized wood and the vehicle has been put at Rs three lakhs. Puttur Range Forest Officer P Sridhar, DCF Narayana and others were part of the raiding team.
