Mangalore : The BJP Mahiala Morcha (Women’s Wing) organized a protest meeting against the ruling government on its `Shadi Bhgya,, Project favouring only poor Muslim unmarried women, as against all other communities were hundreds of girls waiting for their marriage at the age of 19 to 20.
The protest meeting took place in front of DC office on 6th Nov 2013. The speakers explained that while the congress governments were expected to the non-communal in their approach to social problems in India the Karnataka ruling congress government was communal with a partiality towards Muslim women only.
Speaking on the occasion Vice president of the state BJP Mahila Morcha, Sulochan Bhat, questioned the ethics of singling out Muslim community to shower favors on them, Ms. Bhat roared that how can congress be called non communal or secular, when it denied girls from other community Hindu, Christens and the like- in matters of religion, customs, social habits, and above all marriage. She pointed out that the AHIND congress government of Siddaramaih is misusing Muslim community for their vote bank of Muslim Votes, while doing nothing for the Christian or Hindu girls.
The congress party, she argued should have brought the Muslim community in to the main stream of the Indian culture, but it has actually tried to dived the various communities by favoring some and denying the others.
She took expectation to such mentality of dividing people to rule and to have power only for the congress.
A memorandum was presented to the DC. By the BJP Mahila Morcha to be forwarded to the chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaih.
Shushma Janrdhan, Mallika Prasad, Shantha R, Roopa D Bangera and other Women wings leaders were present.
