Beltangady : The Anti- Naxal squad of D.K Police was once again active combing the area of Kutlur GP looking for a group of 10 to 20 armed naxalites who after a gap of some months had coast harm to a local GP member, Ramachandra Bhat.
The naxals around 2 am on the night of Saturday knocked on the doors of the Kutlur GP member who was running, an NGO for forest dwellers to reform them and protect them from displacement. The armed men set fire to Bhat’s vehicles at his house when he refuses to open the doors at the midnight past.
On hearing about the visit of naxals in a large group in Beltangady area once again, police officers G.Prathap Reddy(IGP), SP Shantanu Sinha visited the GP members house and made enquiries. The police squad is hunting for the armed naxalites in the forest area of Beltangady taluk today.
