Mangalore : In the elections held to the Mathr Sangh of Bunts and Nadavas united community has on Sunday November 10, when there were 2 contestants for presidentship, the results were out at 6pm on November 13, after counting the votes coming from far-off areas like Kasargod district and Udupi district and several talukas of D.K Districts.
A Sadanada Shetty polled 3,214 votes whereas, Ajith Kumar Malady secured 4,363 votes, thus gaining a majority of 1149 votes.
Malady, the victor along with 20 other office bearers elected to the governing comity were taken in a procession around the Bunts Hostel on Wednesday.
Addressing all the Bunts present in the occasion Malady stated that he would not discriminate between winners and losers, just because he had one an election.
He would treat his supporters who enable him to win with their hard work appreciably while he would look at the diffited group kindly to help them co-operate with his future aims for the community welfare.
Thus, the new president made it clear that he would only work for the betterment of the entire community of Bunts and Nadavas and not in parts or groups.
The voting for the contests took place in Ramakrisha Colloge Auditorium in Bunts Hostel and created great enthusiasm and expectations of a golden age for the Bunts Community.
