Bantwal : The Hindustan petro-Chemicals company has a project of taking gas and diesel by pipelines through D.K form lands without informing the land holders and this as created a difficult position for the several agriculturists of  in Mangalore taluk Bantwal and Puttur area, who protested on Tuesday, Nov.19, in a meeting held at Bantwal to discuss their problems.

Where  small-scale farmers own less than an acre of land for various crops. But if the gas pipeline goes under their fields from 1 and 2 other, they cannot cultivate even vegetables, leave alone paddy crops.

A meeting held in protest by local farmers in Bantwal were the HPCL has not taken their permission before holding the survey of various lands for pipelining the central project, it was stated that the formers will not give 1 inch of their land without prior permission of the owner of the lands and it was decided to continue the struggle against the survey of lands made by HPCL over their heads and without fixing the compensation value for the lands taken over if any.

Advocate K Ramesh Upadyaya, Suresh Shetty, Raghunath Payyade, Panjikallu Grama panchayat members Chidananda, Balakrishna Shetty Pallipadi, Devappa Poojary and affected committee members were present at the Tuesday meeting to determine the future steps of the struggle in their hands.

Meanwhile, HPCL has gone ahead with completing his survey for laying pipelines in some of the areas which are the in the hands of private farmers.
