Mangalore : The former Gram Panchayat President of Ira near Bajpe, Abdul Razak Kukkaje was arrested in a criminal case on Friday by Bajpe police and was produced in court to be remanded to Judicial Custody the same day.

It is said that he is involved in kidnapping a stone quarry manager, Anwar Sadat who hailed from Kerala but worked in Bajpe . Apart from Razak a Former Quarry Manager Hassainar was also involved in the kidnapping case of the new quarry manager and was imprisoned.

Abdul Razak was arrested from his home in Bantwal at Kukkajebailu on Friday.

The Police are investigating further into the case to find out why Razak kidnapped Sadat.
