Kundapur :  Lokayukta DYSP Umesh Shet, inspector Mohan Kottar and other officials caught hold off on Kishore Mada (35) assistant port officer at Gangolli in Kundapur taluk on Friday morning when he was receiving forced bribes of Rs.45,000 and Rs.10,000 in cash from too helpless boat owners who were enriching him with money for years together in the name of license fee and renewal fee. This year however the tow boatmen who were being robbed by APO got tired of paying excess money to him and reported the matter to the local police of Lokayukta.

DYSP Umesh Shet immediately went in to action with his companions and a set a trap to catch Mada the APO while taking briefs on Friday December 6, he was coat arrested produced in a local court and was remanded to judicial custody until further notice.

The harass boatmen where glad that the corrupt officer met his fate in getting justice. Extra cash of Rupees 80000 in the port office was seized by the police of which Rs.39,700 was found to be unaccounted.
