Kukke Subramanya : The Shashti festival lasting six days is completed on Monday, December 9 with a decorated boat ride by priests on river Kumaradhara and devotees having a bath to refresh them selves after a six day long ritualistic programme. The temple elephant ‘Yashashwi’ was seen enjoying a free bath in the river. On way to the river many households received the god seated in a Palanquin and offered him Poojas and Aratis.
The Katte pooja was performed by the temple chief priest Keshava Jogithaya on the banks of river after the holly bath was taken and god return to the temple to signify the end of first part of Shashti festival.
Management committee chief Krishna Prasad Madthila, Acting CEO M. Nagaraj, Deputy CEO Ravindra among others were present on the occasion.
