Mangalore: On the occasion of celebrating World Human Rights Day at the town hall on Tuesday Dec.10, DK Principal District and Sessions Judge B V Prakash inaugurated the program.
Speaking on the occasion senior advocate K P Vasudeva Rao commented that intellectual of the society, advocates at the Bar, and police officials who look after have to come together. He explained that human Rights include dignity and moral values which cannot be violated by politicians, rich persons and men in high powerful posts. Such violators should be controlled like terrorist and the poorest person in society should be protected by law which sees equality in all human beings. Human rights are an intellectual property, to be argued about by advocates in courts and protected by the police forces who deal with law and order problems.
DySP Shvakumar in his speech elaborated that the police while catching hold of criminals have problems of lock-up deaths violation of human person and reduction of human rights among the criminals who have violated other people’s human rights themselves. Yet, the police were trying their best to go according to law and arrest the violators as per legal rules and the parameters of law. There is no conscious violation of law and human rights, when the police handle the criminals in courts or outside, he added.
Additional Deputy Commissioner K Dayanand welcomed the gathering. The presidential address was delivered by CEO of DK ZP Ms. Thulasi Maddineni.
Mangalore Bar Association president Ashok Ariga and senior civil advocate Vanamala Yadav also spoke on the occasion.
