Konaje, Mangalore: The Konaje police on Dec.21 succeeded in rounding up a group of eight young Muslim Rowdies who had taken blue films of a boy and a girl in desolate house in Surathkal. To squeeze ransom money of Rs 25 Lakhs, reduce to Rs. 3 lakhs the gang of rowdies could not get the ransom money when they saw the police in uniform waiting for them in a fixed place, and fled by the car in which they had traveled earlier to the spot were ransom money was to change hands. This gang of 8 rowdies was arrested by Konaje police, in quick time.

It is seen that certain gangs are black mailing and photographing, demanding ransom money, selling of exposed photos among University students and marketing of materials like Ganja, Opium, Cocaine among those students of various universities in the same region to spoil them and earn dividends out of such deals, which are illegal and immoral, such cases have recently increased and the
police have to take cognizant of the Muslim gangs indulging in such anti social crimes and jail them.

The arrested are Shamsuddin (23) of Suratkal, Shameer (21) of Deralakatte, Iqbal (23) of Deralakatte, Rauf (22) of Deralakatte, Nawaz (28) of Mudipu, Nisar (18) of Manjanady, Harshad (28) of Deralakatte, and Sharfan Hussain (21) of Deralakatte.
