Mangalore: At a press conference held in DKCC office on Saturday Dec.28 here Minister in charge of DK B. Ramanatha Rai condemned Moral policing by communal forces and informed that necessary steps had been taken to catch the culprits in kidnap and ransom demand case, in which Two Nitte University Students were involved and a gang of 8 Muslim youths had demanded ransom after a force sexual act before they were rounded up as again by the Konaje police in two days.

He said congress was a secular party but would not tolerate religious fundamentalism in minority communities that would bring down the name of DK district before the world. He congratulated the police for the quick arrests of Muslim goons and promised the citizens and university students that such cases will not be repeated in the university campus or else were.

Those present at DKCC were Ex Mayor Shashidhar Hegde, Ibrahim Kodijal, Corporator Gafoor , Aziz and others.
