Udupi: the 30 year old Kaniyoor Math Swamiji Vidyavallabha Thirtha who had gone on a pilgrimage of holy cities like Banaras returned from the all India tour via Manjeshwar were he worshiped at the Madhvacharya’s ancestral temple and house, made his official entry in to Udupi prier to ascending the Paryaya Peetha, or Sarvajna Peetha has it is called on Jan.18.He was received by the citizens of Udupi in great happiness and he was taken in a decorated chariot in the presence of Dancers and singers folk artists and huge dolls (Thattiraya) and other bands of music and dance on the streets of the temple town of Udupi all the way to Thenkupet and Car street by  his retinue to his Kaniyoor math home.

Several religious rituals have to be performed at the temple or in Rajangana in the presence o9f his followers and officials before Jan.18, when he takes over the right of pooja from Sode Math Swamiji to decorate and worship the in age of Kadegolu Krishna of Udupi daily for the next 2 years.

He was received at his home Ashram by Diwan Raghuram Acharya of Kaniyoor Math and other followers who followed his colorful chariot from Jodukatte to Car Street on foot.

CMC president Yuvraj, vice-president Amrita Krishnamurthy, former MLA Raghupati Bhat, Kota Srinivas Poojary, Balaji Raghavendra Acharya and others were present during the colorful procession that went through the streets of Udupi to end in Kaniyoor Math, were Vidyavallabh Thirtha took rest.
