Magalore : In the immediate Presence of CPC R. Hitendra, representatives of various educational institutes of Mangalore, State Health Minister UT Khader asked the police to take stricter action against anti social elements, however influential or powerful they be, to carry out action against criminal incidents, get themselves jailed and come out on bail in a few days to repeat their insolent acts in public.
He was speaking at circuit house on Saturday( Jan 4, 2014) to the press persons an leaders of the society together with police personnel, calling upon them to fight of evil-doers in the society and maintain law and order in universities and residential areas.
He pointed to the criminal cases in DK on the increase in recent times and wanted recruitment of more police men in the rank and file to bring down the crimes incidents in Mangalore and surrounding areas.
He asked to recruit best talents and trained policemen in the city police services and to listen to the complaints of the public who are co-operating with the police to put down violence and reduce rash acts by vehicle drivers and criminal minded young persons in society.
He insisted on appointing well trained, strong minded and young watch and ward staff and security forces in and around schools, colleges, hostels and University areas with CCTV cameras were necessary to catch criminals red handed and prevent crimes before they take place.
He asked the parents of young students of teenage to take care of their own children despite busy and heavy work elsewhere , so that the children are properly guided and morally aware of what is going on around them in educational institutions and in the city areas.
He told CPC R. Hitendra to keep a strict eye on habitual offenders, drug addicts and criminal who roam about in the city for some crime or the other they could commits. He wanted every vehicle reaching the school or college gates to be checked for any suspicious activities by the police and see that a couple of police men are posted on every school or college to act as guards and prevent quarrels and fights on the grounds.
He wanted the police to help people in bad conditions around the school or colleges.
On the whole, the health minister wanted a healthy atmosphere to prevail in and around schools and colleges to make education a smooth and happy experience for students and teachers alike .
Representatives of University of Mangalore such as Yenepoya, Nitte, KMC, Father Muller’s and other institutions attended the prestigious meeting.
