Mangalore : The Congress party is frustrated and desperate as it has realized that it has lost the ground and is certain to loose elections. That is why it is making desperate attempts by resorting to gimmics, offering lollypops and making false promises. Any amount of this cheap tactics will not help the Congress to regain the lost ground. The latest example is the incident of the rationing and then hiking the cap on LPG gas cylinders said M. Venkaiah Naidu, MP and former BJP National President, at a Press Conference held in Circuit House in Mangalore on Jan31.2014 Friday.
He said that, first reduced it to six cylinders per year and then raised it to nine and now, as they have realized that the middle class and poorer sections are unhappy , they are promising 12 cylinders. Who brought them down to six? What happened to the justification then made about that decision? And then how now they are going to meet the deficit additional 5000 crore rupees burden account of this cap hike? Shri Moily the petroleum Minister, just two weeks back cited several fiscal reasons against increase in the cap. Now suddenly happened? They must explain. It is totally unethical on the part of the congress to resort to this sort of gimmics on the eve of elections. The real credit for this LPG cylinder hike goes to shri narendra modi because of whose fears the Congress is doing all this.
Further he said, the Government has to pay Rs.40000 crores to the oil companies on account of subsidies. The government did not bother to pay it. Now they are planning to pass the burden on to the next government knowing fully well that they are not coming back to power.
They have failed on each and every promise they made. Promised Women Reservation Bill. 10 years are over but it could not see the light of the day in spite of the fact that the alliance is being led by a woman.
Promised to bring back black money stashed in foreign banks.. not moved even an inch in that direction.
Promised action on the corrupt.. but making every effort to shield the corrupt.. be it the Railgate be it the coalgate, be it the 2G, be it the CWG. They are planning to forge alliance with RJD whose leader is a convict on corruption charges!
Promised Telangana, slept over for nine and half years and now, at the fag end of their tenue, talking of bringing a bill without addressing the concerns of all the regions in the state. They are adopting the opportunistic stand on this issue. Here the PM proposes and the CM opposed! Congress General Secretary, Shri Digvijay Singh, last evening revealed that the legislators of seemandhra region are acting and opposing the bill as per the script and directions of party high command. The situation could have been handled in a better way had the decision was not accompanied by the cynical calculations for political gains.
They have talked of minority welfare and we have seen what happened at PM’s minority meet the other day. When the PM was indulging in Aatma Stuti and para ninda, one Muslim gentlemen, Dr. Faheem Baig, shouted and exposed and the government on non-implementation of schemes announced by PM for minority welfare. They forgot all these years the recommendation made by the sachhar Committee that they have to form a corpus fund for National Wakf Development Organisation. They promised to implement the –point programme for minorities which they have boasted in 2006 budget. They did not do anything in that regard, he added.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Nagaraj Shetty, Padmanabha Kottary, Pratapsimha Nayak and others were present.
