Mangalore: The two-day beach festival organized as part of Karavali Utsav culminated at Panambur on Sunday, February 23. Speaking about the potential of the district and improving tourism, Ramanath Rai, district-in-charge minister, said that beach festival is the part and parcel of the Karavali Utsav.
In the years to come, the festival will be organized in the month of December, he announced.
“Karavali Utsav should be made more attractive. Talents in the field of cultural, art and sports should join in this festival. Even the district administration must make arrangements to attract NRIs and tourists from different places,” he urged.
Minister distributed the prizes to winners, who participated in various competitions organized as part of beach festival.

Ibrahim, DC, Dr. Prashanth, assistant commissioner and president of Beach festival committee, Dayanand, additional deputy commissioner, Gokuldas, assistant commissioner, MCC, Mohan Rao, tahsildar, Suresh Kumar, A.A. Khan, RTO, Jeethendra of tourism department, Yathish Baikampady and others were present on the occasion.
