Mangalore : Left parties of Dakshina Kannada staged a nationwide protest against the visit of US President Barack Obama, in front of DC Office on November 8, Monday.
The Dakshina Kannada district unit of CPI, CPI(M), All India Forward Block and RSP rendered their support to the protest and held a demonstration.
B Madhava, district president of CPI (M) said the members of the group will strongly protest against the US dictatorship and hegemony which has continued even after the tenure of George W Bush.
He also said that the CPI (M) will be against United State’s cunning policies including Civilian Nuclear Deal with India. The USA, even under Obama is continuing its policy of global domination and acting against the interests of people of many nations including India, he added.
The US government is promoting bilateral relationship and bringing undue pressure on Indian government asking it to follow economic policies that are detrimental to interests of common people of India.
He also said that America must stop forcing on Indian foreign values. They must also return of 50,000 soldiers from Iraq. The US must also end its restriction on CUBA. They must give justice to the victims of Bhopal Gas Tragedy.
