Mangalore : CCB police officials in Mumbai on April 10, Thursday have arrested the prime accused of Bharathi Builders office shoot-out case at Anegundi.
The arrested has been identified as Dattatreya Tukaram Wagre alias Datta (27), hailing from Karad in Satara district.
The police who have arrested 8 persons in this case have increased the number to nine with the arrest of Datta.
CCB Inspector Valentine D’Souza, Urva Police Inspector Chandrashekhar Maledevar and other personnel led the operation, under the instructions and guidance of Mangalore Police Commissioner R Hithendra and DCP(Law and Order ) Jagadish and DCP (Crime) Vishnuvardhan N.
Previously police have arrested Ganesh Laxman Saket and Mukesh Shivaji Kambli in Mumbai and seized one pistol, three rounds of bullets and a motorcycle used to execute the crime from them. Two accused Ganesh and Hithesh hailing from Haleyangady were also arrested on the charges of being informers. Later the police also arrested Anto alias Anand Kumar of Bangalore, Abubakker Siddique of Mudipu, Nitin Kumar of Karkala and Guruprasanna of Salethur said to be the aides of underworld dons Kali Yogish and Ravi Poojary.
