Mangalore : Kusumavathi, mother of Sowjanya, who was raped and murdered at Pangala near Dharmasthala, said that she and her family will not support and political party in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking at the press meet held on April 15, Tuesday, she said that during the protest staged demanding justice to Sowjanya case, various political parties and organization irrespective of caste or creed supported the cause as their family members, in such situation it is not right to support any particular party.

Kusumavathi also said that it is true that Mahesh Shetty Timarody, who took a lead in Sowjanya agitation, is supporting BJP and it is his personal matter and we have to do nothing with it, but some political parties sticking our photos in handbills rendering support is not accepted and such attempts will mislead voters.

Sowjanya’s uncle Vittal Gowda was also present.
